GALP H2 100MW SINES

Supply of customized PTR, PFLR, and PFL cable trays for Galp's new 100 MW green hydrogen plant at the Sines refinery in Portugal.

We manufactured the entire cable support system using our three main product lines, all specially engineered to meet the project's demanding requirements. Each tray was fabricated from 2mm thick steel and hot-dip galvanized after manufacturing with a heavy-duty zinc coating of minimum 85 microns, ensuring maximum corrosion resistance for this industrial coastal environment.

The project features ten PEM electrolyzer modules supplied by Plug Power, forming one of Europe's largest green hydrogen production facilities. Once operational later this year, the Sines hub will produce up to 15,000 tons of renewable hydrogen annually, replacing 20% of the fossil-based hydrogen currently used in Galp's refinery operations. This €650 million investment represents a strategic step in decarbonizing European refining and establishing low-carbon fuel production for aviation, maritime, and road transport.
