Reinforced Cable Trays

This type of tray (PFLR) has the aim to protect the cables from the outdoor environment, mainly medium/small cables.

According to specific needs, they can be with perforated bottom to grant more aeration, or with completely closed bottom when there is the need to protect from liquids/dust.

The reinforced ribs by rolling edge ensure great solidity/capacity, allowing a fairly high fill factor.

Technical Notes

PFLR trays are designed and manufactured in accordance with the CEI EN 61537 Class 23-76 standard and can be manufactured made of: 

  • carbon steel S235JR (UNI EN 10025) hot dip galvanized after working (ISO 1461)
  • stainless steel AISI 304
  • stainless steel AISI 316L
  • pre-galvanized carbon steel Sendzimir type, S250GD Z200 (UNI EN 10147)
  • aluminium

PFLR type cable trays are obtained by cold-profiling of coils, bending radii of special pieces take into consideration the CEI 11-17 standard, which settles the minimum bending radius according to cable's diameter: on request we can supply bending radii other than standard one (200mm).

Standard covers are plane type and 1,00mm thick: on request, we can supply different thickness and shapes (flowing type, reinforced, ventilation louvers, draining holes...).

Capacity Load

PFLR trays have been tested through strict tests, to define the maximum admissible load (SWL - Safe Working Load) in compliance with the CEI EN 61537 standard.

In our catalogue, that you can find in the dedicated area (download catalogues), there are the diagrams wich define, according to the distance between supports, the maximum admissible distribuited load (UDL - Uniformly Distribuited Load) and the maximum admissible load considering an additional concentrated load (CL - Concentrated Load): as concentrated load we consider a load of 800N added in the middle span with respect to the supports (only foreseen for height 100mm).

The CEI EN 61537 standard states that the maximum acceptable longitudinal inflexion is 1/100 of the distance between supports, and that the maximum acceptable transversal one is 1/20 of tray width: the inflection of PFLR trays under load (UDL) falls within these parameters.
